Description
Remember the popular puzzle game Tetris. Well, the 3D pitfall is the three dimensional variant of Tetris. Launched in 1995, the 3D Pitfall works on the DOS platform. The players' view is set as the top of a long shaft that is the player's screen is the ceiling. The solid blocks appear in hanging just below the screen on the side. The goal is to rotate and position the blocks so that they fit the gaps in the pattern made by the previously fallen blocks. If a layer is filled completely it vanishes and rewards points. More the number of layers filled, more are the points scored. As one proceeds in 3D Pitfall, the rate of new blocks increases and random blocks increase difficulty. Hence, the three dimensional Tetris. The game brings excitement among the player. Though the concept is good, the game developers didn't care to develop clear graphics for the game. The blocks when they fall become a skeleton diagram and the game becomes a dizzy one as the rate picks up. There is lack of function to see the gap on the floor in a titled manner. Hence at the heat of the moment, one gets confused about the nature of the gaps. Made by J.Shramka, 3D Pitfall is an upgrade to those looking to play the old 90’s DOS games. However imperfect they add to our imagination
