Description
After producing a series of great in-house produced pinball games, Entertainment of the 21st Century
opted to outsource production to a tertiary party, Sweden UDS, for instance.
Absolute Pinball has four distinct tables with diverse themes, including the Deep Sea, Hollywood,
Paris-Dakar rally, and Baseball. The two-dimensional scrolling plan-view is available in two VESA and
three VGA: 480 by 640, 640 by 480, 320 by 240, 320 by 400, and 360x270. The option, ""VESA Flip,"" turns
the tables to right angles. This is a non-scrolling exhibit, although it necessitates turning the monitor
towards itself. The ""VESA Norm"" scrolling resolution, which displays roughly two-thirds of a table
at an instance, is the second-best and recommended resolution. The dot-matrix exhibit, which is located
at the base of the desks, takes up space.
Absolute Pinball can accommodate about 8 gamers. The games are all 5-ball amusement and the top five
scores are recorded. It is possible to re-set the high scores, but they will default to the preset scores.
Up, Right and Left nudges can be applied to tables. Pre-set keys 1-4 can be used to quickly change
the screen resolution. As a bonus, the game features a different setting for a multi-ball frolic as well.
The gameplay is more sophisticated, with more updated features and better graphics than other similar
games at the time. Because of the ball's mechanics, the ball moves at an abnormally slow pace.
The shooters are placed back somewhat, exposing a section of the order rails to aim impacts where the ball
falls off too forcefully and generally arches outside of the extent of the stumps, forcing you to halt for
the round to finish. It was released for DOS in 1996.
