Description
Alphaman is a 1995 DOS game which was developed by Soleau Software. This is a post-apocalyptic RPG. The earth has gone through a horrible nuclear disaster has happened. Due to the nuclear disaster, humans have mutated and the world is very different now. You are a mutated human whose job is to save the human race from complete annihilation. This is future earth, so the weapons are different too. You have laser guns, protective suits to avoid radiation. There is a microwave which is used to ripen berries.
The theme of the game is really different and the interface is also good. Despite all these, it doesn’t give the best gaming experience, as if something is lacking. The different locations seem to have little or no difference at all. Same goes with the monsters. They are idiots who run towards the player as soon as they see them. Till then they would move randomly here and there. This is not really the problem. The real problem is the monotonous theme of the game.
The game is based in a totally destroyed New York City. You have to go inside the caves and buildings where different mutated creatures are present. Your aim is to destroy the enemy base before they release the poison in the atmosphere and destroy all the living beings. There are 5 castles which you have to find and kill the ruler of that castle. The castle ruler includes Buzz Aldrin, a Radioactive Elvis.
This game has tried to be like other Rouge-like games by including different monster and various items and weapons. The map mode features a “Zoom in” option to look more closely. Alphaman is recommended to everyone who likes Rouge-like games.
