"The riots were simply a street version of the disorder
that exists at higher levels of socieyt. What we saw
on television during the unrest was just the grossest
reflection of rage and corruption rampant throughout
every strata of our social structure...the anarchic
impulse finally tricked down to the most powerless and
disaffected among us.."
Max Benavidez,Los Angeles Times, September 6,1992

INSTALLATION:
This procedure is to be done by the PC systems administrator or the
user if there is no administrator.
Please use the mkdir command to set up a directory by typing
the following command at the DOS prompt:
MKDIR C:\yourown
Then insert the aware diskette into drive A:, and use the following command
to copy all of the necessary files to your hard disk:COPY A:\*.*
C:\yourown\*.* (Note: About 1,700,000 harddisc bytes are needed for the
program). You will then need to unzip the ANG1.ZIP and ANG2.ZIP files.
They decompress into ANGST.GXL and BOX.GXL of considerable size.
pkunzip ANG1.ZIP ANGST.GXL
pkunzip ANG2.ZIP BOX.GXL
You are now ready to run. If your hard drive is not designated as C:,
you should substitute the appropriate letter in place of the "C" in the
previous commands.Be sure to store the original diskette in a safe
place as an archival backup.
OPERATION:
Invocation:
The user must set his directory to the youron subdirectory by typing
this command from the DOS prompt: CD C:\yourown .The program may then
be invoked by typing 'ANGST' followed by a carriage return.Allow the initial
screens to 'play' until the Menuing Screen appears. You operate this program
by using the pulldown menus and the mouse. Typical operation involves
bringing up a new scene, optionally selecting an attitude or object,
pressing ESC and MouseOn to bring up the cursor, clicking on yellow spots
until a new scene is activated. Once the Mouse is turned on, all operator
action consists of clicking until the next scene appears, so the operator
must be sure to utilize the menus before activating the Mouse. It is
recommended that the player make a few practice runs to get the hang
of operating the program.
The Menu Bar has two modes:
mode 1:
a Menu Selection mode in which Status,Attitude,Menu, and Inventory pulldown
selections may be activated .
mode 2:
a Esc Mode activated by pressing Esc allows the 4 menus above to be
accessed and an additional three options to be activated. If MouseOn
is pressed, then the player gives up the option of pressing other selections
until the mouse selections are played! The mouse is played by clicking
on Yellow areas in the scene. [You may need to slide the mouse within the
yellow location and click again.]

distributing Angst for any kind of remuneration must first contact Niche
for authorization. Authorization is automatically granted to ASP vendors.
Commercial users of Angst must register and pay for their copies within 7

youbuy!
If you plan to use the program please register 'Angst'
by sending $6.00 for each PC usage.

on musical effects (through PC speaker) and will give you references
for some of the scene explanations.

time. You must treat this software just like a book. An example is that this
software may be used by any number of poeple and may be freely moved from
one computer location to another, so long as there is no possibility of it
being used at one location while it's being use at another. Just as a
book cannot be read by two different persons at the same time. The person
receiving a copy of Angst MUST be aware that each copy is ONLY for
evaluation and that Niche has not received any royalties for the product.
The ANGST package CANNOT be sold as part of some other inclusive package,
nor can it be included in any commercial software packaging offer, without
a written agreement from Niche Software & Communications.
