Description
Around the World Trivia is a quiz game based on Geography. The game was released in 1992 on the DOS platform and can be played by up to 4 players.
The game is a shell product that is distributed as Shareware. A player is given the option to evaluate it for 30 days and decide if they would like
to register it. The game has two versions, Classic and Deluxe with 300 and 600 questions respectively.
The game offers three difficulty levels- Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. However, the question pack remains the same. While the Beginner level
mostly comprises of True or False questions, the intermediate level is a multiple-choice pattern. The advanced level is the most difficult where the
player needs to type out full answers. The setting of the game is customizable, wherein the player can choose from a variety of options such as enabling
or disabling the hints, display of the correct answer, sound settings, timed play, and humor mode. If a player chooses to enable the humor mode,
the program responds with an amusing response to every answer. The game can be configured to include a specific number of questions and can be restricted
to certain topics. It is possible for different players to play against each other while being on different difficulty levels. On answering five
consecutive questions correctly, the player is awarded a bonus question to boost their scores. The top five scores from each difficulty level are
displayed on the high score table. Around the World Trivia was created by software Creations and can be considered one of the superior quiz games of the era.
