Description
AZBUKA-RASKRASKA is an educational video game designed for children. The game was released in 1993, in Russia and uses the DOS platform.
AZBUKA-RASKRASKA is aimed towards pre-schoolers who are acquiring the basic knowledge of alphabets and colours. The game is designed like a colouring book
which also features alphabets and digits. The player needs to first select an alphabet or digit to paint. An object is then displayed on the screen, based
on the letter or digit selected earlier. The player needs to colour the object using the colours available on the palette, which contains all the colours
of the rainbow. Black and white can also be used when required. The player can also mix two or more colours from the palette to obtain a desired colour.
A funny bee guides the player throughout the game, helping them to pick out colours and stay between the lines. After an object has been coloured, it can be
saved for future use. A player can also redo the colours by using the eraser option which automatically restores any coloured image to the former black and
white form. The objects can range from articles of daily use, to living organisms and animals, or even a fantasy land or objects which would invoke the child’s
imagination. The game language is completely in Russian including the title screen and the letters. The Russian title of the game is Азбука-раскраска.
The game is a decent attempt towards developing artistic skills in young children and improving their cognitive skills.
