Description
Backstage is a promotional game for Liveclub, released in Germany in 1993. It is an adventure game with puzzle elements. The game was released on the DOS and Amiga platforms.
LiveClub is a medium-sized rock club in Germany. Staying true to its theme, Backstage appeals to ardent music lovers by featuring the real-life character from Guns ‘n’ Roses,
Axl Rose. In the game, it is advertised that Axl Rose is having a concert in the city and the Radio station is giving out tickets to the concert. However, the participants need
to enter a quiz contest and on answering all the questions correctly, their names are entered into a lottery. There are also a series of terms and conditions that would apply.
The player assumes the role of a contestant and the goal would be to clear all the levels of the game to win concert tickets. The game begins with a scene of the player’s house
filled with music DVDs and a large speaker, pointing to their obvious interest. The hero later visits the music hall to participate in the contest.
Backstage is a single-player game with a fairly easy gameplay. The player just needs to point and click on the correct answers on the screen. The player needs to answer questions
about Axl Rose’s recent album. The lucky winner not only wins tickets but also gets to go backstage and meet Axl Rose in person. Being a promotional game, the player is frequently
subjected to advertisements for Liveclub and their membership programs.
