Description
Basket playoff is a sports game released in 1991 for DOS and Commodore 64 platforms. It was developed by Simulmondo with a top-down perspective.
The game portrays the basketball game and has a business simulation and managerial gameplay.
In the Basket playoff, the player portrays the role of the coach of a famous basketball team. The team has a budget of $34,000,000. The game involves
the financial management of the team and the different aspects of the game in single match and tournament mode.
In the management phase of the game, the player has to purchase a team of eight players. Out of the eight, five are assigned for the match.
The price of each player depends on his skillset. The skills are judged based on four parameters- stamina, shooting ability, running speed, and skill
in setting up for taking the shot.
The game provides options for 50 players. They can be renowned musicians, political leaders, movie stars, and more. Their price can be pre-defined
based on the pre-defined skills they possess and can be adjusted before the game begins.
Moreover, in the simulation phase, there are matches against another team. The assigned or chosen players are given the task to win the game by scoring
more than the opposition team. The player can control one character at a particular instance. The character who can be controlled is usually the one
holding the ball, or other players surrounding him. The player can move the character in eight directions to get or throw the ball.
The player can take time-out after each basketed ball and adjust strategic formation.
