Description
Betamax is an action video game that was released worldwide in 1997 for the DOS platform. The arcade game was developed and published by The CoExistence.
The side-scrolling shooter game has a two-dimensional scrolling side-view perspective. The genre is action, and the arcade is developed in a sci-fi,
futuristic, SHUMP, shooter, and arcade theme.
In the side-scrolling shoot-them-up game, the player is located at the rudder of a fighter ship in unfriendly space. The player has to fight with the enemies
to survive the repeated attacks from aliens.
What is the proposition here? The player needs to take down the enemies, pick the power-loaded balls that they leave behind, and trade them for upgrades for
the ship. The upgrades are operated by a power-up system. When the player gathers an energy ball, the upgrade meter advances and the player can choose to activate
the presently spotted upgrade anytime he wishes. Every game initiates with three lives, and the upgrade on the active ship is effective even after the player
loses a life. However, the upgrade wears off after some time.
Moreover, some of the extra levels enhance the effect of power-up when it is applied more than once.
So, are you ready to fight the aliens and control the most advanced and upgraded ship! Betamax teaches you survival skills along with helping you to learn
multi-tasking. You fight with the enemies, gather the power balls and upgrade your ship at the same time. Get ready to indulge yourself in the world of action
and tactics.
