Description
The game Black zone takes place in a derelict and eerie city which was once a thriving town. The prosperous town was attacked by aliens who descended from
the mysterious alien ship and went awry.
The game was published by Doka, AO in 1995 for DOS platforms. The action game is played from a side-view perspective and is based in a post-apocalyptic,
futuristic, and sci-fi setting.
As strange machines started wandering the streets, people started vanishing, and some started working to serve the uncertain alien purpose. Moreover,
the plot detects a red-structured appearance in the skyline. The invaders started vanishing quickly with the same speed in which they made their appearance -
resulting in a ghost town left behind. Some of the expeditions were asked to investigate the cause, but none of them returned. With the passing time, the decaying
city was sealed off and no one could dare enter it.
It is when the player steps into the Black zone. The player has to infiltrate the zone to unlock the secret of the aliens and find the cause of people’s
disappearance.
The non-scrolling game features an adventurous angle with certain humorous twists. The player needs to program machines by entering commands and accessing
control panels to advance in the game. The player can alter the behavior of moving barriers, platforms, and other vital elements along the path.
As the player progresses along with the broken buildings, he encounters uncanny creatures, machines that can modify surrounding gravity, physical anomalies,
and spatial warps that sabotages human orientation. All these phenomena reflect the influence of the alien’s peculiar work.
