Description
The Blastocyst was launched in 2004 for the DOS platform. The action game is based on futuristic and sci-fi themes and is played from top-down, flip-screen,
and fixed perspectives. It is a remake of the video game Asteroids.
The arcade shooter game Blastocyst features a flip-screen and fixed visuals. In the game, the ship of the player is confined to a deformed part of space.
The objective of the player is to survive the assault approaching space rocks by pounding them into tiny bits. The ship is piloted by thrusting and rotating it.
The adaptation produces friction which prevents inertial movement from running out. Moreover, the player can perform thrust movements even in reverse.
There is a green bar given at the bottom of the screen. It shows the status of the player’s shields. The shields can get drained by weapons that cause continuous
fire or by collisions. Thus, the player must save energy. When the shields are completely drained out or down, even the slightest touch can crumple your ship.
Fortunately, there are means through which the player can restore energy. There are tiny asteroids that drop green balls loaded with energy. The player gets energy
from destroying these energy balls. Furthermore, the player can recharge the shields by picking up the balls.
Learn to survive in outer space while combating the celestial bodies. Break them hard, and accomplish the mission. Also, do not forget to recharge yourself by
hitting the energy-loaded asteroids. Give a tough play by recharging your shields.
