Description
After being falsely accused of crimes against the state and serving 248 years out of your 250 years in
cryo-sleep out of the world in a space facility, you suddenly find yourself freed due to what seems to be
a technical failure. With no memory of the past and no clue of the present, you find a briefcase computer
beside your cell. It gives you access, control over droids, and a chance to escape.
CAPTIVE unfolds in a sci-fi setting where your character goes on a journey to free himself, free others,
and dissolve an evil plot so he can save the world. Armed with sophisticated weapons technology and
futuristic abilities, you must fight through a group of strong guards and escape in one piece. You’ll need
help so you’ll recruit members into your team who have also been falsely accused. Together you gather
information and set out on your mission to save the world.
From a first-person perspective, CAPTIVE has some decent graphics. The dungeons and holding cells look vivid
and futuristic, so are the doors which you’ll need to solve some puzzles to open. You have controls to
change your point of view and see the expansive space you’re in. This nifty trick helps you in detecting
guards and attacking them. In your journey, you can stop by the shop to upgrade your abilities and buy new
ones that will be useful against stronger enemies.
Captive has a strong backstory to move the game forward and engage players into the action. Designed by the
famous Anthony Crawther, this RPG game took the gaming world by storm in 1992 on platforms such as DOS,
Atari ST, and Amiga.
