Description
Charly the Clown: Run for fun is a platform game developed by white Magic. It was released worldwide on DOS
in the year 1996. The main protagonist in the game is Charly the clown who was on his way to a circus presentation
but gets lost in a deep jungle after crashing his self-made plane. The jungle is filled with many obstacles and
dangerous creatures. Charly needs to make it out of the jungle alive and find his way back to the circus.
On his way, Charly needs to collect weapons and coins to fight his enemies.
The player controls Charly the clown and helps him navigate through the jungle. The game has 5 levels in shareware
plus many bonus stages. Like all platform games, there is a lot of jumping and running involved, with a little bit of
sliding as well. Charly can throw marbles at his enemies which he keeps on his clown suit, as long as he has ammunition.
However, he needs to pick them up along the way. Charly also needs to replenish himself from time to time by
collecting health top-ups spread across different levels. Some levels contain a hidden passageway to a bonus level.
The player can use the arrow keys to move, and the spacebar to jump, and throw the marbles. The player needs to cross
all five levels to help Charly get back to the circus. The game has pleasing music and colorful background that try to
recreate the spooky feel of the jungle. The game provides a side view, similar to Super Mario bros.
