Description
Chip'n Dale Rescue Rangers: The Adventures in Nimnul's Castle is a Single-player action video game based on a Disney
animated series of the same name. It was released in 1990 on the DOS platform. The game was developed by Riedel
software and was released by Walt Disney computer software in collaboration with Hi-Tech Expressions. The game has
nine levels, where the player needs to guide Chip and Dale, who call themselves Rescue rangers through a series
of obstacles.
The game starts with the premise where Chip and Dale's partner, Monterey Jack gets caught in a mousetrap inside
Professor Norton's Nimnul castle. To rescue him, Chip and Dale must infiltrate the castle while carefully avoiding
the mechanical dogs and falling acid drops thrown by the mad scientist. Once inside the castle, the rescue rangers
must collect screws and other parts so that their friend Gadget can build an aircraft. The game throws several other
challenges like fire throws from candles, machines with hands, etc. There are mainly 3 locations where each level
is played, inside the castle, outside the castle, or on the castle steps. The objective of each level varies between
avoiding all enemies while moving on the screen and collecting the screws. Between the levels, there is a small
animation that shows features Zipper transferring the screws to Gadget. The player is awarded points after each level.
The player also gets a total of three attempts to complete all nine levels of the game. Overall, the game has very
simple graphics and is criticized for its lack of complexity.
