Description
The action game Cobra was published and developed by Loriciels in 1987.
It was released for Amstrad CPC, Thomson TO, and DOS platforms. In the action game,
the player portrays the role of Cobra, a space pirate lead of Buichi Terasawa’s TV and
comic series. The game features isometric visuals and is set in a futuristic and sci-fi
setting. The characters are in the form of anime or manga art.
There is yet another interesting character in the shooter game, Dominique, who is
captivated by the treacherous Salamander. Cobra gets a note from Dominique and gets
started with his mission of rescuing Dominique along with Harmanoid, his cybernetic
assistant lady. Harmanoid is also referred to as the French of the game.
As the game begins, Cobra, the main character, enters an isometric region. Both the lady
and the Cobra carry a gun, and the player can control both the characters. The player is
required to shoot at everything that moves while finding the exit of the multidirectional
scrolling region. The player gets a box of five grenades as a backup weapon. He can bombard
them at the troublesome opponents. Moreover, the player can afford to be hit once or twice
as he features a well-stocked energy level.
As the player controls two characters at the same time, he can get separated while rounding
an obstacle or a corner. However, he can from a strategy and regroup the obstacles into a
wider and tighter formation to defeat the enemies.
