Description
Cougar Force, also known as Piège is an action and adventure game, with puzzle elements incorporated along the way.
The game was released in France in 1990 on the DOS platform. Atari ST and Amiga versions were released shortly after.
Cougar Force is a single-player game, where the player assumes the role of Agent Cougar, who has been tasked with
retrieving sensitive information from the hands of the enemy. However, to do so, he must penetrate a guarded fortress
with hidden traps and armed soldiers lurking in every corner. There are no weapons available to the player at the start
of the game, they need to be acquired as the game progresses. The game is set in three locations, each having a different
gameplay. The first location is a prison where the player needs to escape hidden traps, armed guards, dynamite, and other
dangers while solving puzzles to gain access to secret rooms. There is a plane available to the player to make their
escape if they manage to complete their mission. The game progresses into the second phase with the player still on the
plane launching an attack on enemy planes and trying to ward off missile attacks from a hostile territory.
In the third phase, the player drives a motorcycle and needs to race to the checkpoint within a time limit, or he will blow
up. There are several plot twists toward the end of the game which act as an added incentive for the player to complete
the game.
