Description
CUSTER'S LAST COMMAND: The Battle of the Little Bighorn is a strategy and war simulation game released in 1995.
The game is based on the infamous Battle of the Little Bighorn fought in 1876 between the 7th cavalry regiment
of the United States Army and the combined forces of a few native American clans. The battle ended with a massive
victory for the Native Americans over the US Army.
CUSTER'S LAST COMMAND tries to recreate this infamous battle in which General Custer, the famed and illustrious
commander of the US Army met his end. The US Army suffered a crushing defeat to the Native American tribes where
every soldier in the five companies led by General Custer was killed. The moment remains significant in American
history and General Custer and his troops were hailed as heroes after their deaths.
The game, however, explores many alternate scenarios and plot lines to change the narrative of the battle.
The player can play either from the side of General Custer or the Indians. The game can be played with another person
or a computer-generated opponent. The game has done a great job recreating the battle with a representation of military
warfare and tactics in great detail. The player has the option to decide on attack tactics, choose weapons and ammunition,
the distance from which the attack needs to be carried out, the level of smog in the air, and many other such details that
can significantly impact the outcome of the battle. The goal is to win the fight by annihilating the opposing forces.
