Description
DIMENSIONIC is a strategy game that was released in 1984. It was developed by Exoterion Technologies and runs on the DOS
platform. The game is based on a Sci-Fi theme where humans are capable of traversing across dimensions through a
trans-dimensional portal. However, the portal can function only when there is sufficient entropy fuel to power it.
At the start of the game, the player will find themself confined in the zeroth dimension and must break free by traversing
through the three dimensions till they reach the fourth. The task is to generate enough entropy fuel by setting up a network
of factories at every dimension to use the trans-dimensional portal and move to the next portal. Level one is uni-dimensional
and involves accumulating enough X entropy. Level two is a two-dimensional portal where the player must convert the X-entropy
to Y-entropy to generate enough energy to activate the portal. The third level features a three-dimensional environment where
the Y-entropy must be converted to Z-entropy to generate enough power for the portal to transport the player to the final
destination. Resource management is the key factor that ultimately leads to the overall outcome. The player needs to ensure
an adequate supply of resources is available at all times. To achieve that, the player will need to carefully manage,
distribute, and invest their resources at appropriate times. DIMENSIONIC involves a lot of tactical decision-making and
strategizing to achieve the end goal. Negotiations with other factories can be tricky and one might require problem-solving
skills, logical thinking, or manipulation to progress.
