Description
Diamond Ball III is an Arcade-style video game released in 1992. the game runs on the DOS platform and can be controlled
with the keyboard. The player needs to carefully maneuver a bouncing colored ball in a maze-like environment.
The maze comprises colored blocks that vanish when touched by the ball; however, for a block to disappear, it must match
the color of the ball. Certain blocks within the maze are unique, causing the ball to change color upon contact with them.
The ball can only be moved sideways, using the arrow keys, and one must be careful to avoid death blocks.
These death blocks are denoted by a skull and are hard to miss. There are several other obstacles such as immovable walls,
traps, barriers, and barrier switches. The objective is to clear all blocks while carefully avoiding the death block, and
collecting diamonds. Instructions are provided at the start of the game for easy identification of the various blocks.
Once a level is completed, diamonds are unlocked which the player needs to collect to move to the next level.
Diamond Ball III was developed by the Japanese video game developer Technos Japan Corp. It has 50 levels. The difficulty
level gradually increases as one progresses in the game, and few may require strategic thinking to navigate effectively.
Bonus items and power-ups are available at some levels. Players must be careful to not miss out on them as they can greatly
impact the outcome. Diamond Ball III provides a side-view perspective. Points are displayed at the bottom of the screen.
