Description
Diamond Peter is an Arcade-style puzzle game released in 1993. It runs on the DOS platform and is a dual-player game.
Diamond Peter is heavily inspired by classic games of the genre such as Boulder Dash and Emerald Mine. The players find
themselves trapped inside a cave and to make their escape, they must collect the maximum number of diamonds strewn inside
the cave. However, the task is more challenging than it sounds. The players will find themselves amid several dangers that
include the risks of getting crushed under a falling rock, surprise acid attacks, or even electrocution. The cave is
guarded by enemies of various kinds, each with their skills and combat styles. The player must defeat or escape them to
progress through the level. Succumbing to an enemy attack can impede the progress or cause the player to lose a life.
Grenades, Dynamite, Potions, and other bonus items are available for grabs throughout the game to help the player combat
enemies. However, resources must be used judiciously to prevent shortage towards the end. Many levels require solving puzzles
to access certain areas, collect diamonds, or unlock the exit. The difficulty level gradually rises as one progresses in the
game, and the puzzle mechanics become increasingly complex. The game features 2D-pixel art graphics typical of the early '90s.
The sound effects and background music complement the theme perfectly and go a long way in enhancing the gaming experience.
The game provides a side-view perspective and can be played using the keyboard.
