Celeris, Inc. was founded in 1987 by Stephen Chaplin in Chatworth, California. Chaplin, an experienced developer of anti-submarine warfare and graphic displays, first targeted the defense and aerospace industries for the company's products. Gaming software came next, and an entertainment division was formed. The company also developed several graphics engines and tools to incorporate into their games. The company's first game was FlixMix (1993), but it became better known for its Virtual Pool franchise.

Description

FlixMix is a collection of animated picture puzzles with four built-in games:
- Single Mingle enables you to solve individual puzzles at your leisure.
- Scramblecade presents you with a procession of increasingly difficult puzzles in the style of an arcade game.
- Joint Venture is a game in which you and other players compete for points while taking turns working on the same puzzle.
- Mix'n'Match pits you against other players in a puzzle-solving competition.
The puzzles have been created so that they continue to be puzzling even after you have solved them. This has been accomplished by desinging the animation to be part of the puzzle and by providing combinations of changeable features.
Alternate sets of puzzles may be chosen using the Change Game Set option.
