Description
The sequel of flying tigers, Flying tigers II is an action game published by Ticsoft in 1994
for DOS platforms. The 2D scrolling game is set in the futuristic and sci-fi realm and is played
from a top-down perspective.
In flying tigers II, the player plays the character of a pilot of an advanced hi-tech ship.
The ship is well known by the name ‘Flying tiger’. According to the plot, the player combats
techno terrorists who have initiated a sinister plot to knock down all the flying tigers.
In the typical shoot-them-up vertical-scrolling game, the player has to survive till the end
of the stage.
The game consists of four levels. The player gets attacked by the planes relentlessly at every
level and the player has to combat several treacherous leaders and powerful planes. The player
also encounters steel zeppelins, active volcanoes, and warships. Most of the time, the player
is found flying over the sea. Moreover, he also locates land patches with ground installation
on them, and all these patches can be blown up.
The player finds weapon upgrades during his mission, and the upgrades can also heal the player
a little. The yellow bonuses change the kind of his machine gun (which is the main weapon),
while the blue bonuses offer him a secondary weapon such as flaming napalm, missiles, and lasers.
The bonuses can be shot down to change the weapon they contain. At the end of every stage,
the player receives bonus points for the building and planes destroyed by him.
