Description
Follow the reader is an educational game that was released in 1993 for DOS platforms.
The 2D scrolling game was published by Walt Disney computer software, Inc. with meditative pacing.
Follow the reader is a series of games for kids that features Disney characters.
The game focuses on giving the children practice in reading through an interactive and engaging
storybook experience. The game is played from the side-view perspective and teaches the player how to
read and write.
In the game, the players get the chance to live a day as the famous Disney character, Mickey mouse.
The player can choose different actions that the narrator will read. While the narrator reads,
Mickey mouse performs the actions that the player chooses. Most of the games take place in Mickey mouse’s
clubhouse.
Mickey plays musical instruments, watches TV, orders a pizza, reads a magazine or a book, eat, drink,
and cook, feeds Pluto (his dog), plant seeds, and water them. Also, he takes care of his hygiene,
calls his friends, or writes them letters. The character of Mickey mouse can invite his friends and
near ones over to his clubhouse. Also, he can go for a picnic with his friends to the beach or park.
The game ends at the end of the day when Mickey goes to bed.
The kids can save and load the game to watch the story created by them. The story goes like a movie or
video and the player does not have to press anything or perform any action during the story.
