As the game starts, a catalog is depicted which shows all the automobiles.
The player needs to select a vehicle as per his choice from the given list of automobiles. All the automobiles featured in the game are of Ford Company. When the player selects a particular automobile, a window open in the game which shows the features, accessories, interior, and dashboard of the automobile.
Now, select the color of the car and get started. Along with this, there are several extra options which are provided in the game. The player can select these additional individual options to increase his performance and help him during the race.

Ford Simulator 5.0 is not a racing game and thus, the player has to compete with no competitors. Instead, it is a driving game. The player has to drive his car till the end of the level in the limited amount of time. The time limitation along with the hurdles presents on the road act as obstacles for the player and prevent him from completing the level. There are many curves in the road and this makes it a challenging task to drive through the twists and turns. Also, the player needs to be careful while driving and prevent his car from smashing into the other cars.
