Description
Fracas is an action game published and released in 1997 for DOS platforms. The fantasy game
features a direct control interface and fixed and flip screen visuals.
Fracas can be played with one to four players using a joystick or keyboard. The game features
two game modes, normal mode and battle mode.
In the normal mode of Fracas, the player portrays the character of a lone wizard who is trapped in a maze.
The roads in the maze are blocked by pathways and boulders and are guarded by enemies. The player can lose
his life if he makes a contact with any one of them. The wizard possesses numerous sizzling cauldrons
around him. The cauldrons are bombs that do not blast immediately and thus, give some time to the player
to shift to a safe place out of the range. Using the cauldrons carefully, the wizard can clear boulders
and gain access to the entire maze and the enemies.
Sometimes, when a boulder gets destroyed, the player gets a gem. The gem can either increase the count
of spells possessed by the player or the range of the upcoming blast. Once, the player clears all the
enemies, a portal appears that takes the player to the next stage or level.
Furthermore, the battle mode is a multiplayer game in which there are no AI-controlled enemies.
The players compete against each other in a boulder-strewn maze. The player can select the number of
rounds in the match with a maximum of nine.
