Description
Galacta: The Battle for Saturn is an action game that was published by Albino
Frog Software Inc. It was released for DOS platforms in 1992 and is played from a top-down
perspective.
The gameplay of the shooter game is similar to Galaga and Galaxian. Galacta: The Battle for
Saturn provides you with a top-down space shooter similar to other arcade games.
In the game, the player moves frontwards and backward at the bottom of the screen to avoid
attacks from the enemy ships. The player escapes the attacks from the enemies by moving
on the screen and can even attack the enemy. When an enemy ship swoops at the player or the
enemy attacks him, he dies. The enemies can attack the player in numerous pre-specified
patterns. Staying out of the way of the enemies is the biggest challenge for the player.
The player needs to be careful when the ships fly down at him and they bounce back from the
bottom of the screen and fly up again. The game features numerous powerups and shields to help
him survive the attacks from the enemies. When the player manages the make it through the wave
of enemies without getting killed, he receives a bonus to his score.
Galacta: The Battle for Saturn is a single-player game that can be played using an analog
joystick. Shoot down all the enemies as you progress in the game while escaping the attacks.
The goal is to get rid of all the enemies and succeed to the successive level.
