INTRODUCTION
------------

GALLEONS is a naval combat simulation in which two people may fight
head to head or one person may fight against a computer player, or
two computer players may even fight each other if you so desire.

CEDAR LAKE SOFTWARE hereby disclaims all warranties relating to
this software, whether express or implied, including without
limitation any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for
a particular purpose.  CEDAR LAKE SOFTWARE will not be liable for
any special, incidental, consequential, indirect, or similar
damages due to loss of data or any other reason, even if CEDAR LAKE
SOFTWARE has been advised of the possibility of such damages. 
CEDAR LAKE SOFTWARE's liability for any damages shall never exceed
the price paid for the license to use this software, regardless of
the form of the claim.  The person using this software bears all
risk as to the quality and performance of this software.

GAME PLAY
---------
Game Play is fairly straight forward.  Try to sink the other player without
getting sunk.  You can do this by either ramming or firing cannons.  To
fire cannons hold down the fire button until your range bar gets to the
desired range, then release.  You may also raise or lower sails to control
your speed.  Remember, wind will also affect how fast you will go in
a given direction.  You may also turn right or left as long as your rudder
stays intact.  In other words, don't get hit from behind.  Controls are
changed in the controls menu and ships status can be changed in the game 
options menu.  Your score is based on relative strengths of ships plus points
scored for cannon hits.

Controls:

Keyboard 1:      R  Accelerate
 C  Decelerate
 D  Turn Left
   G  Turn Right
 `  Fire Left
 1  Fire Right

Keyboard 2:      8  Accelerate
 2  Decelerate
 4  Turn Left
   6  Turn Right
 /  Fire Left
    RSHIFT  Fire Right

Joystick 1 & 2:  Either button fires of each side.
         Joystick controls ship.

Computer: You've probably seen this before.



SHAREWARE
---------

This program is distributed as "SHAREWARE".   This program is
distributed at no charge for evaluation purposes ONLY.  You may
share this software with anyone you choose so long as the program
is distributed in its original form with all files intact.  If you
continue to use this software after 10 days of its original use you
MUST make a registration payment of $10.00 per installation to the
author or the license to use this software is revoked.
