Description
Gonzzalezz is an action platform game released in 1989. It was released on both DOS and Amstrad CPC.
The game was released in Spain and is set in a Mexican theme. The game revolves around Gonzalez, who
is the central character and has a typical Mexican look with a sombrero and a big mustache.
Gonzalez is also quite fond of his Siestas (Afternoon rest), during which he falls asleep and has
a nightmare. There are two levels in the game during which he must escape his own nightmare and find
his way back to his hammock.
In the first level, Gonzalez needs to move by executing precise jumps to escape adversaries in the form
of flying platforms and keys, vacuum cleaners, and dismembered hands. The level consists of seven locations,
and Gonzalez must make several jumps to move to the next level. The player can move Gonzalez to the left
by pressing O, to the right by pressing P, and make him jump by pressing the button Q. The landscape is
surreal and the effects have been tailored to resemble an actual nightmare.
In the second level, Gonzalez is on a quest to find his hammock and while doing so, faces the dangers
of a Mexican landscape consisting of native tribes and wild animals. The background of the land is made
up of thick Cacti. Gonzalez must protect himself from these adversaries by collecting weapons and ammunition
scattered in the wilderness. The player can collect these by crouching with the A key and, and use them by
pressing the space bar.
