Description
Graviton II is a sequel to Graviton, a Sci-Fi action game. It was developed and published by Zephyr Software
in 1993, on the DOS platform. It is based on the Arcade game, Gravitar. Like the first game of the series,
Graviton II features a blue triangular space ship which is controlled by the player.
Laws of physics like inertia, gravity, and acceleration govern the flight. Similar to Graviton, The player needs
to conquer all the planets in all of the four Solar systems. Sixteen new planets have been introduced in Graviton II.
While playing the game, the player must take into consideration the Sun's gravitational force which can alter the
course of the flight. The game throws several other challenges like flying saucers, enemy turrets, drifting mines, etc.
The Spacecraft can use a shield to protect itself from these adversaries. There is also a possibility of the
spacecraft running out of fuel and needs to be refilled at the fuel dumps on the surface. They are represented by blue
rectangles and the spacecraft needs to hover over them and activate the shield in order to replenish itself.
To conquer a planet, the player must not only protect the spacecraft from adversaries but also destroy all the turrets.
Once the turrets have been destroyed, the player can go back to the Solar system screen and move on to the next planet
after the current one explodes. While getting conquering the planets, destroying the tougher ones first gets more
points. The level ends when all the planets in the four solar systems have been conquered.
