If you ever wanted to play a dedicated helicopter game, then Gunship is the game you were looking for. This helicopter simulator game was released on Msdos. It was released in the year 1991. This game came out with some brand new features. The developers added various types of helicopter missions in the game.
In this game, you can fly a variety of helicopters(even a Blackhawk!). Sounds amazing right? Well, that’s not all. The missions are very different from each other. Various types of missions are:
1. Cargo Run - In this type of mission you are required to take supplies to a specific place within a limited amount of time.
2. Search and Rescue - Fellow pilots are trapped in enemy area, your job is to find and secure them.
3. Search and Destroy - Find the enemy’s base camp and destroy it with those choppers.
4. Pinpoint Attack- In this mission, the target is already set and you need to go and destroy the enemy target.
The game lets you name your pilots and then with every mission, they are promoted to a higher rank. By gaining a higher rank, you can unlock a new type of helicopters. Not only it lets you choose a new helicopter, but it also lets you select a wingman. You can select a wingman for your next and the helicopter, which he’ll be flying.
This game introduced a new feature, which no previous game had ever given. You can control and give orders to your wingman. The wingman will act according to your orders without being just an AI. Giving commands to your wingman on a mission makes the game more realistic and interesting.
