MVP Software was founded in 1985 as a hobby by Dave Snyder, the owner of the company. In the early years Dave wrote software for the Sanyo 550 series of computers and sold it directly to Sanyo users through magazine advertisements, reviews, and word of mouth. In 1987 MVP began publishing the work of others who had written software for the Sanyo. By 1991 MVP was growing, and Dave began to work with the company full-time. It was also during that year that the company came to be recognized as a publisher of shareware games for the PC. Since 1991 MVP has released many shareware games, and since 1992 it has developed many retail games. The company is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Description

HOME RUN DERBY is an exciting simulation of an all-time home run hitting contest. It takes a good eye and a lot of practice to be able to hit the long ball consistently.
It is said that hitting the pitching of a major leaguer is the toughest thing to do in all sports. So it can take some practice to be competitive in HOME RUN DERBY. Choosing the practice option allows you to take a few cuts in the batters box. The pitcher will throw all the pitches he's got, so you will have to be on your toes.
Every pitch could potentially be hit out of the park. All you need to do is swing the bat to the right portion of the strike zone, at the right time. This can be more difficult than it sounds.
Choosing the HALL OF FAME option allows you to view the ten all-time greatest home run hitters. To make the Hall of Fame, you have to win the home run derby, and have a home run hitting percentage that is high enough to get you into the top ten.
Hall of famers are ranked not only by percentage, but also by skill level.
A big league hitter will always merit a higher spot than a AAA hitter.
