Description
Hotshot is an action video game that was released in 1989. The game is available on DOS, Atari, Amiga, and several other platforms.
Hotshot is an enhanced version of the popular game of Pinball. The game can be played by up to 2 players. In the absence of another
player, one can play against a computer-generated opponent. The game places two opponents on either side of the screen, with a
split in the middle. Each side has a stack of bricks which the player must knock down by throwing a plasma ball.
To accomplish this task, the player must first catch the ball using a suction device and aim to perfectly before firing.
However, the challenge is controlling the ball which seems to have a mind of its own and defies the laws of physics. The small size
of the ball also adds to the difficulty level as knocking down a single bring might sometimes need multiple throws. To win the
level, the player must beat the opponent by demolishing the bricks before them. The game has five levels, each more challenging
than the previous. In the first three levels, the goal is to knock down as many bricks as possible within the stipulated time and
gain points. In the last two levels, new goals are added such as electrocuting the opponent by targeting specific bricks or
driving the opponent into a black hole. Bonus levels appear after every two levels where players can improve their scores.
The scores are displayed at the bottom of the screen. The game was developed by Maxwell Technology Ltd. and can be played using
the keyboard or joystick.
