Description
Interpose is an Action shooting game released in 1996. It was developed by Twilight zone software and released on DOS.
The backstory is, that before Dinosaurs lived on earth, the earth was inhabited by Overlynxes. With the head of a feral
creature and the body of human a human, they were highly advanced in the field of technology and created beautiful
cities and vast space stations. They also learned to live in harmony with nature and made sure their progress did not
pollute the environment. They were also in possession of powerful and deadly weapons, which they intended to use only
for self-defense. However, on a faraway planet called Denebola, an evil experiment was underway. They were creating
a new race of humans by manipulating DNA and were grooming them to attack and take over the Earth. The Overlynxes must
now fight to protect their planet and save themselves from extinction.
What follows is a deadly battle in the sky with only one overlynx hero taking on the human race.
The player controls the overlynx hero and has to shoot down anything on his path to protect his spacecraft.
The game has 23 levels and takes place in 5-6 different scenarios. As the game progresses and the player crosses each
level, he can upgrade his spacecraft with more powerful weapons. There are also powerups as well as money to be
collected at each level, which can be used for upgrading the vehicle. The player can save his progress in the game
to play later, which is a rare feature in shooting games of the time.
