Description
Based onan animation movie "The Adventures of Jonny Quest", this is a role-playing adventure-sequence game. Jonny is a 14-year old kid who loves archaeology. When ancient Mayan idols go missing from temples, this young boy sets off with his friends to trace the stolen idols. The storyline, in the beginning, is long and gives a proper introduction to the story. The gameplay involves searching for the idols in a top-tilted view with Jonny's friend Hadji and a dog. The player has to discover the jungles, the villages on the way, observe the clues and search for the items. In the path, they have to confront hooligans in one on one duels which appear in a side-view look.In a duel, the player has to beat the challenger using a variety of punches, kicks, and jumps. The graphics are pretty basic but the suspense story keeps Jonny Quest – Curse of the Mayan Warriors interesting till the end. A number of simple inventory-based puzzles need to be solved in the path. The adversaries gain powers as level increases. A total of 3 lives are given to the player to complete a mission. The game was released by MicroIllusions in DOS format. Jonny Quest – Curse of the Mayan Warriors is a keyboard-based game and it uses 16-bit color graphics. There is a joystick support too on some platforms, which gives great ease to play.
