Description
Created in 1992, Maelstrom is a game that takes you to a planet Harmony in the distant part of the galaxy. If you are a person who likes to have the power to rule and strategise to help win a war then this is the game for you.
Many planets returned to almost primitive levels after a huge interplanetary war broke out long time ago. A group called The Syndicate was formed on Zokbar J, eventually wants to control the entire galaxy. The Syndicate has set their eyes on Harmony, a planet having an abundance of Fitz. This is where you, the player comes in. You are a part of The Syndicate, sent to Harmony to find a way to invade it. You, being a person with a conscience are opposed to the ways of the Syndicate. So you offer your services to the people of Harmony. By ruling the planet temporarily you have to effectively wipe out The Syndicate.
Maelstrom requires quick thinking and strategising to determine the research that needs to be done, where and when to commission Fitz mines, hiring people quickly for ship building during a war and thus managing the five departments: Secret Intelligence Agency, Fitz mining, military, research and of course the government. Many things keep happening so you can’t keep the game idle for long. Fortunately, the game can be paused even during a war for that quick loo break.
