Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be on the moon? What if we could start living there? What will be the challenges and difficulties humanity will face. The developers of the game adapted this fantasy and created this game “Moonbase”. Moonbase is a simulation genre game developed by Wesson International. It was released in 1990. The setting of the game is Sci-fi.
The game starts by showing you as a commander of NASA. You are given a task named, Project-Moonbase. It is a multi-million dollar project where your job is to create a base in Moon with the help of your teammates. The goal is to create a base, colonize it with and then keep it sufficient with the earth supplies till you make it self-sufficient.
At first, the game seems pretty easy, as the tasks are small and there are not many things which are to be managed. You start off with erecting base, constructing a landing base which will be required for regular supply. The construction work is easy. The real challenge starts when you start to colonize your base. The multi-million dollar project sounds good, but the items of these games are expensive. You have to make choices and those choices should better be right, otherwise, you are risking people’s life.
The Commander not only requires to keep a check on the account book of Moonbase, but he should be ready for any disaster which could occur at any moment. Air leaks are frequent and your colonies can die due to deficiency of oxygen. On top of it, aliens might find it interesting to pay a visit to your new colony with their laser guns.
During all this mayhem, you have to remember your main objective i.e. to make the Moonbase self-sufficient.
