Description
MOTOR-MANIA is a bike racing stunt game on platforms like Dos where the player competes on a series
of race tracks, riding down steep slopes and jumping over obstacles.
Unlike many games in this genre, this game employs basic and elementary aspects to its gameplay.
Players can’t choose a bike, let alone fine-tune its fork, suspension, or speed. The only extra
condiment there is a Nitro boost, which must be used sparingly to protect the bike's engine
from overheating.
Every level has a time limit and a vast array of obstacles having different shapes, lengths,
and heights. Playing against time means riding fast, using the nitro boost, and letting it cool down,
while at the same time performing simple stunts. After every level, there is a record system that
displays the highest scores and place numbers, so in part, the objective is to top that table.
Like most other bike stunts game, it’s physics-based but from a 2D Isometric perspective. In line with
everything else in the game, the graphics are generic and pixelated, very typical of an 80’s game.
But to add a little flair to the mundane gameplay, this one offers players options to play some tracks
with different color schemes. Another offering comes in allowing users some options of setting their
controls.
This means players can set whichever button they prefer to accelerate, brake, or use nitro boost. Although
it may not provide much, the gameplay is nothing to scoff at. Some levels appear quite challenging and
might make players come back for more. The drive to reach the top of the high score table is another
reason to play MOTOR-MANIA again and again.
