Description
Prepare yourself and get your dictionary because this game is like no other.
MURDAC is a mixture of literary and puzzle games that requires reading and analyzing cryptic
messages to find clues on how to survive. It follows the story of George who just left England
to return to his home in Murdac.
The forest of Murdac is now one of the oldest dwelling places for the supernatural. When George
finally arrives, he's met with a bizarre phenomenon in the form of an old lady from his childhood
who is supposedly a witch.
She says inexplicable things in a cryptic form and it's up to George to decipher that to finally
figure out what is happening in MURDAC.
In this game there are no drawings of a character moving, jumping, or killing enemies. There's no
terrain, no collectibles, no obstacles. Everything unfolds on a page where the story is written.
To understand the game you must follow everything about the story, especially the Shakespearean
vocabulary and the poetic messages embedded in it. That's why you not only need a dictionary but
you must also try to remember every weird clue.
Every chapter of the game details George's quest to find the truth. There are clues outside the
old lady's house and so many other locations that traverse the game.
Because of its unique setup, it makes players feel like they are reading an intriguing book about
the Forest of Murdac. Available on Dos since 1989, Murdac was released by Topologika Software Ltd
in the United Kingdom and succeeded its fellow mystery game, Avon.
