Description
It doesn't take much to assume that the word "Greek" will always precede the word "MYTH",
so there's no surprise here that this game is about Greek Mythology.
You play as Poseidon, the sea God, on his quest into the Underworld to find the Dark Helmet
of Hades. As you probably know if you are a Greek mythology fan, Poseidon controls the
element water, while hades control fire, so that is no doubt going to be an interesting clash.
This game is not an action game but more of an interactive fiction puzzle game.
Most of the events pan out in form of stories but there are a few puzzles here and there.
You can play poker with Charon and Death and solve some other puzzles. Its strong points lie
in its rendition of Greek mythology. Players get to sit back and read the story unfold with
colorful imagery depicting the mythical heroes.
These images are categorized into graphic pictures each having about 24-28 rooms. There, you'll
help Poseidon solve the puzzles and finally find the Dark Helmet.
Without the puzzles, MYTH would be a short reading game that touches upon Greek Mythology.
Adding a little bit of a puzzle helps attract players' attention and makes it more entertaining.
The game is graphically low level as the developers intended to make it short. However, you can
see these mythological gods with some level of grainy detail. RainBird Software published Myth
in the United States in 1989 on Dos, Commodore 64, Atari ST, and Amiga.
