Description
Nicky 2 is a sequel to Nicky, an action game developed and published by Microids. Nicky 2 is a platform game, resembling Super Mario
in a few ways but targeted at a younger demographic. The game was released in 1993 on the DOS, Amiga, and Atari platforms.
The player takes control of the protagonist, a Kid named Nikki. In this version of the game, Nikki must discover the culprit behind
stolen ladders that are blocking off caves in his village. Like every typical platform game, there is not much of a plot but lots of
barriers and obstacles that the player must jump over to progress in the game. The enemies can be killed by stomping over them,
However, Nikki’s energy levels diminish if he makes contact with them in any other way. Nikki also encounters some flying threats and
needs to duck in order to avoid them. There are bonus items along the way for the player to collect. Points are awarded for killing
enemies and collecting bonus items which include keys, dynamite, flying bombs, and other objects. Unlike Super Mario, the enemies are
not very challenging and can be easily annihilated. Each level has a maze-like setup with hidden ladders and sections.
There are also mirrors placed strategically in certain places, which act as teleporters to transform the player into a whole new
dimension. The graphics are visually appealing with a generous use of bright colors to make it attractive to the younger generation.
The game provides a side-view perspective, and the game can be saved using a password to resume at a later time.
