Description
NINJA GAIDEN II: THE DARK SWORD OF CHAOS is the second game of the Ninja Gaiden trilogy. It takes place after a year from the events of the first
Ninja Gaiden. Ninja Gaiden 2 was released in 1992 on the DOS and Amiga platforms.
Ninja Gaiden2 features an even more powerful enemy than the first Ninja Gaiden, in the form of Ashtar, who has bigger forces and a massive castle
at his disposal. The protagonist in the game is Ryu Hayabusa who must rescue a CIA officer from the clutches of Ashtar and also destroy a powerful
dark sword made from the bone of a demon. To make matters worse, Jaquio, who was formerly defeated by Ryu, is reincarnated to fulfil the doomed
prophesy. Like Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden 2 is a fast-faced and action-filled game featuring many classic ninja moves. Ryu Hayabusa also has a sword
which can cut any opponent to pieces in a matter of seconds. There are many powerups available during the game like ninja stars, fireballs and the
brand new addition; Ninja shadow. The shadows are clones of Ryu, using the same weapons and with equally competent combat skills.
The player can use up to two shadows at a time. Ryu is also able to scale up walls effortlessly, without needing to jump. The game provides a
side-view perspective with the option to save the progress of the game at any point. The graphics are an improvement over Ninja Gaiden accompanied
by more powerful enemies, better action sequences and many more surprises. It is a worthy sequel to it’s predecessor.
