Description
Notable Phantom is an educational game designed to act as a tutorial for music. The game introduces the basic concepts of music and inculcates in the player
the desire to create and write their own music. The game was developed and published by DesignWare and released in 1984 on the DOS platform.
Notable Phantom can be played and enjoyed by music enthusiasts of all ages. The game enables players to compose their own tunes and play them. Notable Phantom
is one of the earliest music programs and does a decent job in introducing the basic concepts of music. The player can compose and save their tunes, hear them
from disk and modify the tunes as needed and erase them from the disk when needed. The game is played with the keyboard and the controls are simple.
The spacebar can be used to move the arrow and F10 is used to make a selection. F1 is used to get to the Main Menu. The player creates their tune using
different keys in the keyboard and saves them on the Tune Disk. Once the tune is saved, and the player returns to the main menu, they can choose from the five
options available on the screen - Practice with Keyboard, Play and Save tunes, hear tune from disk, Prepare tune disk and Erase tune from disk.
One thing to ensure is, the disk needs to be formatted by the DOS Formatting command, otherwise the tunes on the Disk could be lost. A lost tune cannot be
recovered, and the player will need to start all over again and recreate the tune.
