Description
O-Pong is an air-hockey simulation video game developed and published by Stophylevie. The game was released in 1996 in France and runs on the DOS platform.
The rules of the game are similar to an actual game of air hockey, where the player uses a paddle to shoot a puck into the opponent’s goalpost. However, there are no
physical players in the video game, the user controls the paddle electronically to shoot the puck or protect their own goal post.
The game can be played by 1 or 2 players. In the single-player mode, the player plays against the computer. To win the game, the player needs to shoot the puck three
times into the opponent’s goal post while preventing the opponent to score any goals. Each goal equals one point. The game is controlled by the Keyboard.
The player gets a third-person top-down perspective of the field. The two teams are distinguished by their red and green paddles while the puck is yellow in colour.
The playing field is a bright blue rectangle with the boundaries marked in White. Both goalposts are marked in red and are on opposite sides of the field.
The gameplay is simple but once the game starts it is hard to keep up with the pace of the puck bouncing at rapid speed between the paddles. The small size of the
paddles makes it even more difficult to protect the goal post and one must have quick reflexes to be able to move the paddles quickly enough. Overall, O-Pong is a fun
game that can keep the player engaged without needing any strenuous physical or mental activity.
