Description
Pole is a Quiz simulation that was released in 1992. The was inspired by a popular Russian game show and runs on the DOS platform.
The game language is Russian. To play the game, a player needs to quickly guess words by the letter. They will have to guess
8 words, 3-10 letters long in a sequence, spending no more than 90 moves. If a player completes the task in fewer moves, they will
see part of a certain picture. If the task is completed in 60 moves, the whole picture is displayed on the screen.
The game consists of multiple rounds, with contestants competing to solve puzzles and accumulate the highest score. Players can
spend accumulated points to buy vowels, helping to reveal more of the puzzle. The letters are selected from a keyboard displayed
at the left side while the words are stacked on the right side of the screen, in the form of a pyramid. On guessing all the words
right, the picture will be unlocked and the player can move to the next level. The game is accompanied by basic sound settings
that can be turned on or off as per the player's preference. "Pole" features 2D graphics typical of early 1990s PC games.
The game can be played using the keyboard or mouse. A simple user interface allows players to interact with the game elements
intuitively. Overall, Pole did a decent enough job of simulating a popular real-time game and capitalizing on its popularity.
It reflects the early stages of video game development in Russia.
