Description
Polymaze is a puzzle game that was released in 1983. It was created and published by RollinSoft and runs on the DOS platform.
The game features a variety of mazes of all shapes and sizes. Players need to traverse through the maze and find a way out of
the complex labyrinth while crossing several levels along the way. Polymaze includes multiple levels with increasing difficulty,
each featuring unique maze layouts. If the task gets too complicated, the player can hand it over to the computer.
The player can also select the option 'Random maze display' from the menu and watch the program generate random mazes.
The graphics are simple and 2D, with a focus on clear and functional maze designs. Polymaze offers maze enthusiasts a break
from traditional maze games with conventional maze designs. The game features a variety of mazes, each with different levels
of complexity and design. As an early example of maze games, Polymaze also contributed to the popularity and development of the
puzzle genre in video gaming. The early version of the game required the player to complete each level in one go but the revised
version introduced a Save function. The game can be played using the keyboard. After the maze is generated, the player can use the
arrow keys to move the flashing cursor. They need to work from the periphery of the maze towards the 'V' in the center.
Pressing 'R' on the keyboard will let the player return to the most recently saved position of the game. The game can be quit
anytime by pressing the ESC button on the keyboard.
