Description
Pool Shark is a pool simulation that was released in 1993. It can be played by two players at a time and runs on the DOS platform.
The main goal of Pool Shark is to simulate the experience of playing pool, also known as billiards. Players aim to drop the balls
in the holes at the edge of the pool table. The initial version of the game had just six balls, which was later increased to
sixteen in a revised version. The game can be controlled using the mouse; the player can move the mouse pointer anywhere on the
screen where there is no pool ball and left click. The cue stick will appear pointing at the cue ball.
The player must move the mouse around to aim the cue stick in various directions. The game offers a Demo version where players
can brush up their skills before an actual game. There is also a Replay function which lets the players revisit a previously played
game. The table color is customizable, and the players can choose the pocket size. Options range from 1 to 3. The size of the
pockets can significantly affect the difficulty and style of play. The players get a top-view perspective of the pool table.
The game attempts to accurately model the physics of the pool, including ball spin, friction, and collision dynamics.
The graphics are 2D and focus on clarity and realistic representation of the table and balls. Basic sound effects accompany
gameplay, such as the sound of balls hitting each other and dropping into pockets. There are varied difficulty levels to
accommodate both beginners and experienced players.
