Description
Prince 2 - The Duel is an action game, based on the popular title 'Prince of Persia'. It was created and published by an individual
developer named Nelson Chu in 1993 and runs on the DOS platform. The game features one-on-one combat between a real prince and an
imposter. Both of the opponents look exactly similar in terms of their attire and physical attributes. The goal is to kill the
opponent and proclaim yourself the real Prince. The game can be played against another player or a computer-generated opponent.
The players will engage in a duel until only one of them remains. The duel includes traditional sword fighting along with special
attacks such as flame-throwing. The graphics are very similar to the iconic 'Prince of Persia', featuring Smooth VGA 256-color
animations. An intricately designed background and an impressive color palette are the highlights of the game. Characters are
designed with a realistic proportion and appearance, fitting the game's historical setting. The action sequences and backgrounds
are realistically designed contributing to the overall immersive experience. Like in 'Prince of Persia', rotoscoping has been used
to achieve fluid and lifelike animations. The animations are not only visually realistic but also follow believable physics,
adding to the immersion. Basic sound effects have been included to complement the theme of the game. Prince 2 - The Duel is a
decent effort towards recreating the immersive experience of 'Prince of Persia' and capitalizing on its immense popularity.
The original release had a few bugs, which the creator has tried to rectify with patches.
