Description
Quest for Hussein is a shooter game that was released in the United States in 2002. It was developed and published by
Petrilla Entertainment. Released a year after the events of 9/11, the game sets a theme for a military operation to
hunt down the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. Quest for Hussein is a single-player game and gives a first-person
perspective.
The goal is to kill Saddam Hussein, and in order to do so the player must kill several Iraqi soldiers. The player takes
a role of a highly trained military official who has been tasked with the responsibility of eliminating Saddam Hussein
and his terrorist group, all by themself. The player is armed with several deadly weapons such as machine guns, hand grenades,
and sharp objects to annihilate their enemies. The battles take place in several locations across Iraq.
The gameplay is fairly simple. The enemies and their assault tactics lack variety; the player can get through each level
in 3-4 minutes. The characters in the game have been given a comical appearance which contributes to its non-serious nature.
Jokes and clever jibes are thrown along the way. Quest for Hussein can be considered a joke game, whose main purpose is to
mock the dictator Saddam Hussein and his dictatorial regime. In retaliation, The Global Islamic Media Front released a
modified version of it as Quest for Bush or Night of Bush Capturing in 2006, which simply replaces the prime enemy as
George Bush and the Iraqi soldiers as American.
