Description
RACK 'EM is a Pool/Snooker simulation game developed by Artech Digital Entertainments, Inc. It was first released in 1988
in the United States, followed by the United Kingdom in the subsequent years. The game was published by Electronic Arts, Inc
and runs on Commodore 64 and DOS platforms.
RACK 'EM is a two-player game that offers five modes- Standard pool, 8-ball, 9-ball, Bumper pool, and English snooker.
The rules in each gaming mode are very similar to the actual games and the visuals recreate the look and feel of a pool
parlor quite adequately. The player gets a close-up shot of the ball to adjust it, sideways and top-down views to adjust
the cue and line, much like an actual game. There are practice modes available, which enable a player to retake their shots
and practice them before the actual game. The progress of the game can be saved to come back and resume at a later time.
The player can also save their favorite shot which can be used repeatedly during the game. The game lets the players
experiment with trick shots and create custom shots. RACK 'EM makes a decent effort in recreating an authentic gaming
experience. This simulation is especially helpful for beginners and helps them in getting familiarized with the rules of the
game, helps them with target selection, and getting their pace and spin right. The skills earned while playing RACK 'EM can
also come in handy while playing in a real-life scenario. This game is bound to be enjoyed by the pool and snooker lovers.
