Description
Railroad Tycoon is a classic video game, which deals with business administration. The single player was released in the year 1990.
The main aim of the game is to construct and supervise the railroad enterprise by setting up the railway tracks, constructing stations and purchasing trains. The player needs to behave like a businessman and make wise decisions. He needs to choose from the given list of four locations for setting up his enterprise. The four locations are the Western United States, Great Britain, the Northeast United States, and Continental Europe.
At the beginning of the game, the player has a capital of one million dollars and also, the company can increase the capital through some bonds.
The player schedules the trains, manages their movement, and decides the track for their movement. The game features a small standard market where the players can sell their pieces of stuff or either, purchase the pieces of stuff needed for their business. In addition to this, the game features several competing companies who are always on a quest to show the exit door of the business to the player.
Moreover, the game consists of four different kinds of stations.
1. Signal tower- This kind of station is a type of transitory loop and takes command over the movements.
2. Depot- A station of this type manages and controls the neighboring eight blocks.
3. Station- station handles its nearby blocks.
4. Terminal – This kind of station manages three nearby squares.
In the game, railroad tycoon, the player can construct a sum total of thirty-two stations. Along with constructing stations, the player also needs to construct an engine shop so that he can build several trains. Also, some additional facilities such as the terminals, stations, and hubs can be constructed.
